Since you didn't specify a -t parm to mount, I assume it is defaulting to 
ntfs. Try '-t ntfs-3g'. You can confirm this is the problem by 
doing 'df -T /mnt'. It will either say ntfs, which would be ro, or fuseblk, 
which would be rw.
