Re: [Xen-users] Dom0 for FreeBSD or Illumos

What are you basing that on? I can't find any documentation, sources, whatever that's at all current.

Well, to be more accurate, anything I find that's current says that NetBSD ZFS is seriously not ready for prime time.

I'd love to be wrong, but a few anecdotes does not say "production ready."

I believe NetBSD's ZFS support is stable when it comes to zpools, but
not the actual ZFS filesystem. Although as a dom0, zpools might be
all that's really needed for guest VMs.

Hmm....
Funtoo is a Linux distro - those install instructions are for running funtoo
w/ ZFS - so I'm guessing you're running a Funto Linux Dom0 which is
providing the filesystems to BSD DomUs

http://www.feyrer.de/NetBSD/bx/blosxom.cgi/index.front?-tags=zfs
http://ximalas.info/2013/06/03/zfs-on-netbsdamd64-6-0-1/

These two are netbsd-specific, but the first one is dated 2009, and seems
completely out of date, while,
the second one starts with "My endeavour with ZFS on NetBSD
<http://www.netbsd.org/>/amd64 <http://www.netbsd.org/ports/amd64/> 6.0.1
<http://www.netbsd.org/releases/formal-6/NetBSD-6.0.1.html> in late February
and early March 2013 hasnât been very positive. The kernel panics every now
and then, even during the simplest of operations such as creating a new
directory on a ZFS filesystem."

So... kind of confirms:
- NetBSD, ZFS - not really there yet
