Dear all

Just to add to this, the deviation permits are intended to be used as the basis of deviations and are not to be seen as pre-written deviations.  But Antonio’s point is well-made that these could be used as a framework for generating project-specific deviations.

Subject: MISRA 2012 C Permits

Dear all,

MISRA have published a report containing Deviation permits for MISRA Compliance.

“The deviation permits published in this document cover commonly encountered use cases where it has been found that deviation from the requirements of MISRA C:2012 is a rational and necessary response to a particular guideline violation.”

The document is free to download and should be read in combination with the guidance for compliance which I’ve shared during our last meeting.

Here is the link:

https://www.misra.org.uk/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=O_-ljuS7Kl8%3d&tabid=57

I think the document is useful because, beyond suggesting justification for known use cases, it gives a framework that can be adopted if we need to create our own deviations.

Hope you find it useful.

Thanks and regards

Antonio
