yup that should work.

steven-- do you want to give that a go?  i imagine the ocaml side will stay 
(roughly) the same as and when c++ support gets added to ctypes in the future 
-- eg., the ctypes generated c++ stubs would obviate the need to expose parts 
of the c++ library via c.
