Isn't it based on FreeBSD? IMHO OSv seems to be picking quite a lot of
code from FreeBSD.

It's not based since we did write it from scratch. Initially we enabled the JVM w/o any codeÂ
from FreeBSD and had very basic filesystem and networking w/o tcp. Later we added zfs and
tcp from FreeBSD. We chose not to start w/ FreeBSD as a base since reaping it down would have been very hard.
