With Xen Project 4.5 released in January, we are now almost one month into the 4.6 development window!

I sent anÂemailÂto xen-devel to kick off a discussion with regard to tweaking the release process for 4.6. The goal is to a create smoother developer experience. Insert 4.6 timeline/deadline here:

here is my proposed time frame for
Xen 4.6 release:

  Development start: 6  Jan 2015
  Feature freeze:    10 Jul 2015
  Release date:      9  Oct 2015 (could release earlier)

Here are some slides that explain our release process for previous releases. Note that the slides might need to change if we decide to scrap feature freeze and only have code freeze. But in general it will still consist of development window and freeze window.Â
