Don,
I had a long conversation with Nick at Comtrol and he is as confused as we are. He is fully invested and wants to get this resolved. He suggested that we run the following tests and send him the output. He needs to understand what is happening and determine if the diagnostic is screwed up or something else happened to the devices.
I was planning to get up there today and move a loop back plug to port 1. He is also sending a pinout of the cables that they use at Comtrol to test the units with serial devices. I will check his pinout with the pinout we have been using.
I’ll call you when I move the plug.

Subject: Minicom tests for RP Infinity on your Linux box
Paul,
On that Debian box, have your Linux engineer do the following and get back to me. Thanks a lot.
On NewCastle:
1) #lsmod
Please send output grepping for rp2.
2) Check on /dev/ directory for ttyRP*
Please send output of ls –la.
3) Dmesg > dmesg.txt
Please send output.
4) #minicom –s
5) Change tty to /dev/ttyRP0 w/ loopback in.
6) Exit to minicom.
7) Type abcd1234.
8) Let us know if you see the characters on screen.
Let me know know it goes.
Regards,
Nick
