I was quite sure I asked for the LTS kernel... and indeed, I
discovered that my systemd efi bootloader doesn't provide to xen the
options I defined :-(

So today, I manually started XEN with a 4.9.74 kernel and I managed to
rdesktop-connect to my domU for several hours with no problems.
