The 'xe sr-create type=ext' creates SR exactly as required:
- creates LVM on the arbitrary partition
- formats this LogicalVolume with ext3fs  (type=ext)
- creates SR and PBD for this partition

The logic resides into the
/opt/xensource/sm/EXTSR.py
