Hi all,

I hope I have posted this on the right list. Until recently I have been running a Windows 2003 based server which does Email and Web hosting. Currently the OS and applications are run from one physical HDD and the web pages are on a second HDD.

I’ve purchased a new (to me) server which is an HP DL160 G5 with dual quad core CPUs and 12Gb of RAM.

The storage fitted in the server is a pair of Intel 120Gb SSDs and a pair of WD GP4 1TB HDDs and uses an HP P400 256Mb RAID controller.

My idea was to run XCP 1.6 and the main software from one SSD and store all the websites and data on the second SSD with the HDDs being for backup purposes, and to perhaps contain OS images etc and I guess swapfiles etc.

Is this a sensible way of configuring it?

Thanks in advance for reading this. Im sorry if the question is a bit basic. Im very new to the whole XCP side of things.

Regards,

Chris.
