One other curious thing I noticed is that sometimes the console screen itself (i.e. a monitor attached to the host, and the default terminal ALT-F1) shows the running VMs without any change, and other times the VMs are not shown. It's only the xsconsole on a remote terminal (over ssh) or a local terminal that always loses that ability to display the resources. I also noticed it's not only the VMs running that can't be displayed using the console ('no virtual machines present'). Even a display of SR repositories fails with 'no storage repositories present'.
