Looks like you need an ACPI-enabled kernel. Have you tried booting a native 
kernel with no acpi 
support? My guess is that it wouldn't work but it would be interesting to 
confirm this hypothesis.

Assuming this is the problem, you'll have to sit tight for a little while -- we 
will have ACPI support in 
the unstable tree in the next week or two. We have no plans currently to 
backport this support to the 
2.0 series, but in any case that isn't a problem for you since you are already 
using unstable.

If any other bugs with this same cause appear then I will close them and link 
back to this report. When 
ACPI support is added to the unstable tree I will report it here as an 
additional comment. Finally, I will  
close this bug when I get a report of successful boot.
