both runs were at this level:
# hg tip
changeset:   6127:ba46bd7f5cdf
tag:         tip

summary:     Build xenstore interface as shared library.

The only difference is the one with PAE on, I did:
# make XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y world
# make XEN_TARGET_X86_PAE=y install
