http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=635 Summary: With xen no serial ports are working Product: Xen Version: 3.0 (general) Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux-2.6 Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: Unspecified AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ReportedBy: flo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx When i boot the xen enabled kernel, then setserial does not find any serial ports. The "normal" kernel finds the serial ports. If i boot the xen kernel with serial console, then the communication on the serial line stops around the lines: <4>Calibrating delay using timer specific routine.. 7610.84 BogoMIPS (lpj=152216 86) <6>Security Framework v1.0.0 initialized <6>SELinux: Disabled at boot. Without xen i see the lines: <6>Serial: 8250/16550 driver $Revision: 1.90 $ 4 ports, IRQ sharing disabled <4>ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A <4>ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A and later: Configuring serial ports... /dev/ttyS0 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A /dev/ttyS1 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A Configured serial ports with xen i see: Configuring serial ports... Configured serial ports That's all. The machine is a FSC RX300 S2. Here are the technical details: http://facts.fujitsu-siemens.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dspcontent&lid=28&page=2 http://manuals.fujitsu-siemens.com/serverbooks/content/manuals/english/1409th-e.pdf OS is Suse 10.0 with latest patches (did not test this issue without patches). Kernel is 2.6.13-15.8-xen. Unfortunately i have a problem with networking too (looks like bug 62) so i need that serial line! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ Xen-bugs mailing list Xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-bugs
