http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=821 Summary: Can not change mtrr registers Product: Xen Version: unstable Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Unspecified AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ReportedBy: fhuberts@xxxxxxxxx I have a Fedora Core 6 system with 4GB RAM and an ATI gfx card. For the gfx card to work optimally it needs write-combining. My BIOS doesn't set up the write-combining so I have to do it myself (I think no BIOS does setup this). With a PAE kernel I can adjust the mtrr settings just fine, but xen does not allow me to do this. When I try to disable an entry or add an entry then the shell responds with an 'echo' error. xen release is 3.0.3-rc5-1.2849.f kernel is 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6xen I have an asus p5w mb and use the memory remapping bios setting: 2GB from 0GB and 2GB from 4GB (PAE mode). The 2GB from 2GB are uncacheable, and the region d0-e0 needs to be write-combing. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ Xen-bugs mailing list Xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-bugs
