http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=823 Summary: xend fails silently if /var/log/xen not present Product: Xen Version: unstable Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Tools AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ReportedBy: wosc+xen@xxxxxxx If the directory /var/log/xen is not present, xend does not start (when started with "/etc/init.d/xend start" or "xend start"). It does not give an error either. It spawns the sub-daemons (xenconsoled, blktapctrl etc.) but otherwise dies without a sound whatsoever. When running SrvDaemon.py directly (which disables fork/daemonize) it starts just fine, so I suspect there is an error somewhere in the initialization of the logging system -- unfortunately said error is not (visibly) handled, leaving the user without feedback about what's going wrong. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ Xen-bugs mailing list Xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-bugs
