[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1089] New: creating 13th domain gets ('Cannot allocate memory')

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1089

Summary: creating 13th domain gets ('Cannot allocate memory')
           Product: Xen
           Version: 3.0.3
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: maarten@xxxxx

I saw a similar issue which was reported as fixed with changeset 6693 or
something, but that was from 2005 and i donno if 3.0.3 is past changeset 6693
or not.

however, this may be something else entirely:

machine is rhel5 with xen3.03 in it and has 8GB ram and has still about 3.xxx
GB free RAM and 12 vm's running for a long while now.

i've had issues like this in the past, but then i noticed that free had no
256MB free, but it was all cached, and i created a free-cache program which
freed up the cache.

however, now the cached free program did free up more than 3GB, but the xm
create says now Cannot allocate memory.

i noticed in the debug log that the ballooning did work, and got past it, but
then later on it gets the allocate memory problem.

The biggest problem is dat I am unable to shut down the vm's (which is
production system).

any ideas? info needed?
