[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1326] New: Unable to reboot/shutdown domU if dom0-cpus != 0

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1326

           Summary: Unable to reboot/shutdown domU if dom0-cpus != 0
           Product: Xen
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux-2.6
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: adorca@xxxxxx

Whenever I set (dom0-cpus) on /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp to any value different
than zero (and reboot completely the dom0 machine) all VM can't reboot or
shutdown properly anymore. They simply "hang" in status ---s- forever.

Going back to (dom0-cpus 0) and rebooting Dom0 fixes the problem.

This has happened to me in the following environments:

Always running either a compiled version of Xen 3.2.1 (on Debian) or a packaged
Ubuntu Xen 3.2.rc1-pre version.

- Dell PowerEdge III with 2 Quad Xeon Processors / 4Gb RAM running Debian Etch
x86_64 as Dom0 and Debian Etch as DomU's via debootstrap. Also happens with HVM
Windows 2003 DomU.

- VMWare Fusion as Dom0 on a MacBookPro running Debian Etch or Ubuntu 8.04
Server as Dom0. Same behavior as above.

Thanks.
