The firmware upgrade does not resolve the problem.

I have tested firmware 4.0.3 and the problem is still present.

To resolve the problem the management firmware has to be disabled according to
instructions at
http://mywiki.ncsa.uiuc.edu/wiki/Dell_PE1950_NIC_Firmware_Workaround
