[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1466] New: Xen does not boot with "auto wlan0" (Intel 3945ABG adapter)

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1466

Summary: Xen does not boot with "auto wlan0" (Intel 3945ABG
                    adapter)
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: Linux-2.6
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: hiphoplappen@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Xen does not boot if I activate "auto wlan0" in /etc/network/interfaces. The
console shows "suspend: event channel 22" or "... 21" as last entry.
Furthermore, if "nosmp" is not set for Xen, I get the same problem with the
messages "suspend: event channel 26" followed by "SMP alternatives: Switching
to UP code" (deactivating virtualization features in BIOS does not affect this
behavior).

If I deactivate it and execute "ifup wlan0" later, the Wifi works (Internet is
accessible).

Some relevant information:
- xend is configured with network-dummy/vif-dummy and thus "brctl show"
correctly does not list any bridges
- I'm using the iwlwifi-3945-1.ucode driver included in Debian (+
wpa_supplicant)
- No domU's running yet

My GRUB entry looks like this:
title Xen unstable, works with WLAN deactivated
root (hd0,2)
kernel /xen-unstable-i386.gz nosmp noreboot console=vga
module /vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-xen-686 root=/dev/sdb3 ro console=tty0
module /initrd.img-2.6.26-2-xen-686

My system:
HP nc6320 - Mobile Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 ("Merom")
Debian 5.0.1 sid/unstable (x86)
Xen unstable (3.3.1) and 3.2.1 showed the same results
Kernel vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-xen-686
/dev/sda3 = /boot (internal hard disk)
/dev/sdb3 = / (USB hard disk)

Please ask if you need further information.
