this iss is not fixed in xen 3.4.2
i used the following to compile the kernel and xen is failing to start.
/sys/bus/xen-backend does exist but /sys/devices/xen-backend/ does not.

compile kernel below
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jeremy/xen.git
linux-2.6-xen
cd linux-2.6-xen
make && make modules && make modules_install && make bzImage && make install
