I have often used ski for Xen development but have not tried it in a few months. However I never tried to use networking (simeth). Did you build the vmlinux with the hpsim config file or just turn on CONFIG_HP_SIM? Also I think the command line options you are specifying may be wrong... I will have to try it again to check (and may not be able to try until next week as I am focused on Xen 3.0 release right now). > -----Original Message----- > From: xen-ia64-devel-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:xen-ia64-devel-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf > Of Matsumoto > Sent: Friday, December 02, 2005 2:53 AM > To: xen-ia64-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [Xen-ia64-devel] Could you tell me howto run xen on ski? > > Hi, all > > I am interested in running ski for Xen development. > > First, I tried to run native vmlinux(which is complied with > CONFIG_HP_SIM > and so on). > > But I have not been able to boot vmlinux. > > # xski bootloader vmlinux root=/dev/sda1 > simscsi=/nue/var/ski-disks/sda > simeth=eth0 > > The result is : > > ================================================== > > loading vmlinux... > > starting kernel... > > Linux version 2.6.12 (root@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) (gcc > version 3.4.4 > > 20050721 (Red Hat 3.4.4-2)) #1 SMP Fri Dec 2 13:43:29 JST > 2005 EFI v1.00 by > Hewlett-Packard: SALsystab=0x10a0b8 > > warning: unable to switch EFI into virtual mode > (status=9223372036854775811) > No I/O port range found in EFI memory map, falling back to > AR.KR0 I/O port > base = 0xffffc000000 > > efi.trim_top: ignoring 2048KB of memory at 0x200000 due to > granule hole at > 0x8000000 > > warning: skipping physical page 0 > > SAL 0.1: Hewlett-Packard HP-simulator version 0.0 No logical > to physical > processor mapping available > > get_max_cacheline_size: ia64_pal_cache_summary() failed (status=-1) > PAL_VM_PAGE_SIZE failed with status=-1;defaulting to architected purge > page-sizes. > > cpu_init: PAL VM summary failed, assuming 18 RID bits MCA related > initialization done Virtual mem_map starts at > 0xa0007fffff1e4000 Built 1 > zonelists Kernel command line: root=/dev/sda1 > simscsi=/root/ski/xenia64.img > simeth=eth0 PID hash table entries: 1024 (order: 10, 32768 bytes) :-< > "Processing stops here.
