[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: [Xen-ia64-devel] [PATCH]redefine raw_smp_processor_id()
Cleaning up the xen tree to remove warnings would be great! It seems like a lot of new warnings started showing up when x86 updated their xen base to 2.6.16-rc2. I suspect things like this redefinition of raw_smp_processor_id() might be a side-effect of that. I've been working on trying to update the source base, but there are some ugly things that need to get fixed and I haven't had the time to dedicate to it. I have a couple scripts that I've been working on to help facilitate the manual process of creating patches and applying them. Attached below is one that parses the README.origin files and tries to automatically merge the tree up to a newer source base. It processes all 159 files in the README.origin files in the current xen-ia64-unstable tree and leaves only 11 for manual merge. I've had great success using a similar script to facilitate updating the sparse tree. The script is attached below if anyone wants to experiment or have a go at updating the tree (feedback and improvements welcome). If they look good, I'll eventually check these into the xen/arch/ia64/tools tree alongside Dan's script which I used as a starting point. I think before we have a Xen/ia64 compiler warning squash party, it would be good to move to a source base matching x86 (a lot of the warnings will go away from this).
