  • Thread-topic: [Xen-ia64-devel] Weekly Xen-IA64/VTI status report.

Hi all,

Xen/IA64 met a shortly unstable issue in this week. The issue was creating VTI
domain would reset whole system. XenU SMP is stable too.

Major Issues:
1. Qemu Window may disappear during DomainVTI is running.
2. Kernel Build still met fewer Segmentation Fault in Xen0. The fault only
happened after running for a long time (more than 50,100 times KB).
3. VTI domain met crash in fuller LTP testing.

Bugs fixed:
1. VTI domain won't report " Oops: time tick before it's due ". Fixed by
Anthony and Xiantao.
2. Fix the issue of creating VTI reset whole system. Fixed by Kevin and Anthony.

For nightly testing, most of cases could pass. Occasional some case would fail,
but can't be easily reproduced. Please see the attachment for the detail.

1 UP VTI creating/destroying Pass
1 UP XenU creating/destroying Pass
LTP testing in UP VTI Pass
1 UP VTI + 1 XenU creating/destroying Pass
2 UP XenU creating/destroying Pass
2 UP VTI creating/destroying Fail (Failed by issue 1)

We also try to build out 2.6.16 kernel from XenU and VTI domain. The good news
is they can boot up Native Linux both VTI domain.

Test Environment:
    Machine : Itanium 2 on Tiger4
        Xen Source tree : xen-ia64-unstable
    Changeset           : 9851-> 9859
Build method : make -j5 with default kernel config.
        Xen0 Memory : 768M
        XenU Memory : 256M/512M
        VTI Memory : 256M/512M
    Xen0 OS : RHEL4 U2 (with nosmp config)
    VTI OS : RHEL4 U2 (vcpus=1)
XenU OS : RHEL4 U2 (with nosmp config)
