It would be fine with me to add vim modelines, but I don't know how xen-devel would feel about that. At the same time as adding vim modelines, it would be good to add equivalent emacs lines. You'd probably want to settle on a consistent expandtab vs. noexpandtab, and fix up the indentation in files. This starts to sound like quite a project... I don't know how worthwhile it would really be. I guess my personal opinion is that it's easier for now to just point out inconsistent spacing when people submit patches. If it seems like it would help somebody, we can point at the vimrc recipes in the mailing list archives.
