The reason for this was that I wanted to make the entire relocate_kernel code fit into a single 16k page because I was worried that if more than one page was used it might not be machine contiguous. As you pointed out offline: "I understood. The pages is allocated by kimage_alloc_pages() which calls xen_limit_pages_to_max_mfn() so that pages are guaranteed to be machine contiguous."
