Kristinn If I understand you, you seem to be saying that for various distributions like Mandrake, Fedora Core, Gentoo, SuSE, etc., you are willing to produce Xen-based (Dom 0) linux base systems and put them on line??? I was going to ask the developers of Xen to consider this as a facet of their operation but I don't think their mandate allows them to do this or they don't see doing this directly in line with what they are doing. They will be reading this so they can correct me if I am mistaken. So I have hesitated in asking. But there is no reason why a group of us cannot set up our own facility working cooperatively with Xen developers and users. We are talking user issues here not development issues. I would also we interested in putting these systems onto DVDs in a manner that would facilitate their installation on other computers. If you are willing to build and test these Xen-based (Dom 0) linux core systems I will make provision for hosting them. I am currently in the process of establishing a sattelite connection between my LAN and the Internet with a static IP address therefore download and upload activities would be fast. I could dedicate a machine as the server. There would be tons of hard drive storage available. But the details we could work out. But we would have to also define how this facility would be set up for access but we can do this off-list because it does not bear directly on the Xen development or user list mandates as near as I can tell. If we do this I would like to stress that we should have someone on the Xen development group voluntarily watch over and strongly influence our activities. What do you think??? In the user manual, there is a short guide for the newbie to use Xen with ttylinux, and I think it would be very nice if somebody could provides with other generic rootfs, like Fedora Core, Debian, Slackware,..., so everybody wants to try Xen can easily take the first steps.
