I've seen this pattern on hosts with errors in the bridge config. 
Especially when more than one bridge was used.
The default spanning tree ageing time is set to 300 secs. That's more 
than your ~10 minutes, though.
'brctl showstp xen-br0' and
'brctl showmacs xen-br0'
