FreeBSD 5 will currently only work on the 2.0 branch. You'll likely need to roll your own kernel as the pre-compiled one is a bit dodgy in places.

I'm working on integrating xenbus at the moment as a background process, so 5.3 should work again on -unstable in the not too distant future. Once that is done  6.0 shouldn't be far off.

Best I've seen is
http://www.fsmware.com/xenofreebsd/5.3/xenbsdsetup.txt

Not Debian specific.  Haven't had a chance to go though, test this
process and document it myself for debian.

The above is pretty generic though. Should work.
