It'd be highly interesting to note why it taking so long as this is
going to be used for a QoS simulation (!).

I'm not sure what I'd look for exactly...

Yeah - but how do I stop that from happening in Linux? It must be some
kind of kernel option that is off by default - does anyone have any
ideas?
