[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] RE: [Xen-users] System hangs while creating DomU
I saw something similar running Xen 2.0-testing on a machine with a P4. I'd been running on it just fine, but I decided to see how performance would be with and without hyperthreading enabled. So I went into the system setup and disabled hyperthreading. Domain 0 started booting and when it got to the point of starting my guest domains it locked up tight. I re-enabled hyperthreading after a few more tries and it started running fine. So I'm wondering if you have HT enabled or disabled on your system. If you have it disabled, try enabling it. FWIW, I'm using Redhat AS 4.0 for my host. -- Ray -----Original Message----- From: xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:xen-users-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Gabriel Patiño Sent: Wednesday, September 21, 2005 9:48 AM To: xen-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Xen-users] System hangs while creating DomU Hi everybody, I'm having some weird problem while trying to create a domain with Xen on a P4 running either Debian or Ubuntu as the host OS. In the archives I've found two threads with the same problem, when you try to run xm create configfile, the only thing you get is one line and the system hangs: gabriel@cerebro:/var/log$ sudo xm create UbuntuHoary Using config file "/etc/xen/UbuntuHoary". As I've read in the archives, someone else have this problem with a P4, any ideas? I'll try to compile Xen myself, and will post the results if that helps. -- Gabriel E.
