I've also asked about this in a previous, related post "VT-ready
workstation for SuSE10.1/Xen and Windows". As my question still remains
"unresolved", I'll try again here by hooking it on this thread.

According to an article in gamepc.com, Intel's Xeon 5000 Series (Dempsey
Dual-core 65nm), i.e. the 5080 - 3.73 GHz processor should have VT
support. The 5000X chipset for workstation, i.e. the Supermicro X7DAE
Intel 5000X Xeon motherboard is used:

>From what I can grasp the new Dell Precision 490 workstation looks to be
based on the above parts, according to its system specs:

1-2 Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5000 series 64-bit processors
Intel 5000X chipset
http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/precn_490?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~section=specs#tabtop

Though Dell 490/5000X workstation looks very interesting for my purpose,
VT isn't mentioned among Dell's spec or product information. And Dell
locally hasn't been able to get confirmed from Dell pre-sail support or
product manager if the 490 workstation really is VT-enabled or not on my
question. Maybe Dell isn't ready to market VT yet, maybe waiting for MS
Virtual PC?

I would be surprised if 490 isn't VT-enabled, but there is a chance that
the BIOS isn't yet. Therefore I didn't ask just about the processor,
chipset and motherboard, but about its BIOS as well.

Can someone on this list tell something about?
