xen 3.0.1 uses kernel 2.6.12 and I need to compile in the 3Ware driver for
the 9550sx-4lp card.

Andrew,

I'm using Xen 3.0.2 w/ kernel 2.6.16 and my 3ware 9550sx-8 works great
with the driver included in the kernel, 3w_9xxx.

I didn't need to do anything special other than selecting it in the
kernel config as a module and building my boot image with the module.
