Hello,

My problem is networking does not work in any of the host OSes I've
tried. These were images from jailtime.org as well as another Debian
Etch instance installed to be DomU.

Here is the config:

name="vm01"
kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.16-2-xen-k7"
ramdisk = "/boot/initrd.img-2.6.16-2-xen-k7"
root="/dev/sda1"
memory=128
disk=['file:/xen/debian/vm01.img,sda1,w','file:/xen/debian/vm01-swap.img,sda2,w']
# network
vif=[ '' ]
dhcp="dhcp"
extra="3"

And here is how it works:

Listening on LPF/eth0/00:16:3e:4e:80:16
Sending on   LPF/eth0/00:16:3e:4e:80:16
Sending on   Socket/fallback/fallback-net
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 6
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 8
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 17
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 13
DHCPDISCOVER on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 14
No DHCPOFFERS received.
No working leases in persistent database.

Exiting.

Failed to bring up eth0.

And /etc/network/interfaces in DomU OS is as follows:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
        address 127.0.0.1
        netmask 255.0.0.0
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

All the Xen stuff was installed using apt-get. What should you suggest?
Thanks in advance.

P.S. Please CC to this private address of mine since I'm not subscribed
to the list.

Sincerely,
Andrew Pogrebennyk
