hello everyone,
I'm trying to compile xen-3.0-testing from source on Ubuntu Dapper 6.06, which went ok next i tried the workarounds on http://www.howtoforge.com/xen_3.0_ubuntu_dapper_drake, but one of them, ie the one to create /var/run/xend and /var/run/xenstored at bootup causes my networking to break (i connect to the internet thru university lan) and with or without the workaround, xm list gives the error

Error: Error connecting to xend: No such file or directory. Is xend running?

and /etc/init.d/xend start gives no indication that anything went right or wrong and xm list after that gives the same error...

can anyone help me out please? has anyone been able to run xen from binaries or source on ubuntu desktop (i tried the server with the same problem tho, except that i installed ubuntu-desktop thru apt-get first - can that be the reason it wasnt working?)

any comments welcome,

cheers,

galileon.
