Check .../linux-<ver>-xen/.config for "CONFIG_TUN y" - it's there in the
default config, so it should work. 

The source in .../linux-<ver>-xen/drivers/net/tun.c doesn't appear to
access any hardware (nor did I expect it to - it's a "software level"
device). But I didn't spend many minutes looking at it, so I could have
it wrong.
