Hi could you use somthing else then ioemu? i don't think so, i haven't see any paravirtualized driver yet... and i'm also waiting for that (i've get the same problems but with an old Linux 2.4 Kernel and older Oracle db ;-) )

Paravirtual drivers exist for Linux 2.6 kernel - shouldn't be too difficult to back-port for 2.4. PV Windows drivers are available to customers of commercial products such as XenEnterprise and Virtual Iron.
Yes, and you can backport tail lights onto a horse. Doesn't make it a good idea: there are very fundamental differences between the 2.4 and 2.6 kernel code bases, so large as to make such backporting a real waste of manpower. Update the 2.4 system to 2.6, if at all feasible.
