aloa list,

i'd like to get a feedback about installing xen on a fc6 host with a gentoo guest.
fc6 is up and running with xen kernel.

now i did a gentoo testinstallation in the following way:
- creating a image file using dd
- format and mount it on the fc6 host
- download stage3 and portage
- editing make.conf setting CHOST, CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS
- mounting proc, dev in the gentoo host
- make other settings like timezone, resolv.conf, ...
- emerge xen-sources
- make menuconfig - setting kernel stuff; make && make modules_install
- unmount and start guest

my questions are:
- is this a "good" way to create the guest and
- what about transfering the guest to another host with another (x86) achitecture will there be problems? Will it be possible to take the image and "boot" it as is on another machine?

thanks in advance
jm
