But my guess is that problem is with

Good detective work. Hopefully I am having the same problem. I'm back home tomorrow, I'll see what I can find out then.

Does anyone have any updates on this? Even with the latest kernel-xen-2.6.19-1.2911.6.5.fc6 kernel, the X server goes into a compute-bound loop when it starts, which it does not do with the non-xen FC6 kernel (kernel-2.6.19-1.2911.6.5.fc6). This problem exists even if Xorg.conf is moved out of the way. It worked fine with the original FC6 xen kernel, but an update around the November time frame broke it. This
is a 32-bit AMD CPU with a G550 card.

Just picking this up again - does the following process output shed any light for anyone?

(You can change consoles by pressing Ctrl-Alt plus a function key, such as Ctrl-Alt-F7 to go to console 7.
