Not really - only option is to shut down the guest and restart it after
you've done the backup. 

An upgrade to 3.1 (formerly 3.0.5) will be my advice if you rely on
being able to save/restore the guest. 

Note that you will have to save both the save-file and the disk-backup
as a pair.
