Aside from my personal objection that it's got Intel processor, I don't see anything in the specs that says "this won't run Xen". It supports RedHat and SuSE Linux versions, so that's saying to me that it should work fine with Xen. It is VERY rare that a machine that can run Linux can't run Xen - it does happen, but I wouldn't think it's likely in this case [it's usually on some pretty crappy motherboards that have poor BIOS support for Linux-only BIOS calls]. I'd say there's 99% chance that this machine is fine. -- Mats > > Thanks. > Chris. > > > -- > > Mats > > > > > > On Tue, Jun 19, 2007 at 12:53:34PM +0200, Chris Fanning wrote: > > > > Hi, > > > > > > > > >I have Xen running on an HP DL 145 G2 just fine. > > > > I need a stand alone chasis. :( > > > > > > > > I've read this > > > > http://hcl.xensource.com/?showall=no&subtab=systems > > > > > > > > Does anyone know if it is up to date? > > > > > > > > Is it really such a task to find xen compatible machines? > > > > > > > > Thanks again. > > > > Chris. > > > > > > > > On 6/19/07, Matt Okeson-Harlow <matt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > >Chris, > > > > > > > > > >I have Xen running on an HP DL 145 G2 just fine. > > > > > > > > > >The only issue is that I cannot use the LOM serial console > > > due to what Xen > > > > >does with serial ports. > > > > > > > > > >Otherwise, no issues. > > > > > > > > > >On Tue, Jun 19, 2007 at 11:47:20AM +0200, Chris Fanning wrote: > > > > >> Hi, > > > > >> > > > > >> We've been using xen with pc clones for some time now. > > > > >> But now the boss wants to get serious and start using > > > real servers. > > > > >> We've been looking at HP. > > > > >> > > > > >> I got in touch with a couple of distributors for prices > > > and much to my > > > > >> suprise, I've been told by one HP Partner that Xen does > > > not run on HP > > > > >> hardware.
