Food for thought:

1. Which vncviewer are you using?

Is it the Linux 'xvnxviewer' or a Windows one?
I had some trouble with TightVNC on Windows, but RealVNC on Win and
xvncviewer on Linux are working fine.

2. Another point: which guest are you trying to boot, and with which
kernel boot parameters?

We need to be sure Linux will use the frame buffer for its console. The
kernel will start in FB, but how is your console configured? If it goes
serial, the it will only be available with 'xm console'...

3. The most stupid question: why do you need VNC with PVMs?

I worked hard to get that running, until I had it working and realized I
really don't need it :-D
The point is: the console is good enough to get the system up, and when
it is up,if you need a graphical screen, the VNC support in the DomU is
much better that the limited support through the frame buffer...
