  • Thread-topic: Corrupted XFS Filesystem

Hi Folks,

We are running all of our DomUs with XFS, and we have experienced some
very strange filesystem corruptions, that even xfs_repair couldn't
properly restore. The vm was irreversible damaged and many files where
missing or moved to lost+found. The problems occurred after rebooting
(xm shutdown + xm create ) the DomUs.

I cant tell if the machine was shutted down properly, because it
happened "only" three times and I'm not able to reproduce it. But I
think not, because the xfs-log was not empty.

The error message appeared when starting the vm was:
Filesystem "xvda2": XFS internal error xlog_clear_stale_blocks(2) at
line 1237 of file fs/xfs/xfs_log_recover.c.

The used kernel: Linux version 2.6.16.29-xen (root@vh3) (gcc version
3.4.4 (Gentoo 3.4.4-r1, ssp-3.4.4-1.0, pie-8.7.8)) #6 SMP Wed Nov 8
18:51:15 CET 2006

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Greetings
Uli Staerk
