I am trying to install ubuntu-server from cd on hvm.
i set the domU as a standard hvm config.
i setup the ubuntu-server install cd image as the cdrom

the domU starts to boot then stop at
ISOLINUX 3.36 Debian...
Loading . . .

is there a way yo get this to work?

I know the standard way to get this to work is
by using debootstrap...

but i don't know what packages to install to get the
equivalent of an ubuntu-server install
and also how to set my default language and keyboard layout to japanese
