[Xen-users] having trouble booting Xen-3.1 on X86_64 Fedora Core 8 install

Hi:

Any hints/pointers welcome. I am very new to Xen, I have a AMD "AMD Athlon(tm)
64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+" based system on which I am running X86_64
Fedora Core 8. I have installed Xen-3.1 on it, but I can't get Xen to boot.
It seems unable to find the root volume, the kernel panics and reboots
immediately so I can't capture or write down anything and I can't seem to find
a log anywhere in /var/log that would capture the failed boot sequence. I have
a SATA drive.

My grub.conf file is:

default=0
timeout=5
splashimage=(hd0,2)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
hiddenmenu
title Xen 3.1 / XenLinux 2.6
        kernel /boot/xen-3.1.gz console=vga
        module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen root=LABEL=/1 ro console=tty0     # have
also tried root=/dev/sda3, no luck.
title Fedora (2.6.23.9-85.fc8)
        root (hd0,2)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.23.9-85.fc8 ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet
        initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.23.9-85.fc8.img
title Fedora (2.6.23.1-42.fc8)
        root (hd0,2)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.23.1-42.fc8 ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb quiet
        initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.23.1-42.fc8.img
title Other
        rootnoverify (hd0,1)
        chainloader +1

[root@zadapi1L log]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda3              20G  3.0G   17G  16% /
/dev/sda5              95G  211M   90G   1% /home
tmpfs                 470M   24K  470M   1% /dev/shm

Again, any hints or pointers to document sections of grub or Xen welcomed.

Gautam
