Re: [Xen-users] creating and virtualizing images

We have transformed physical and VMware boxes into xen domUs on centos5 dom0s. If the original box is also centos5, no problem, but for centos 4 and 3, there are some issues:

- udev gives an error at startup, but it seems to work once the machine has booted
- kudzu often die at startup giving a segmentation fault
- a nash-hotplug process eats 100% of the CPU, so we have to kill it at startup (in /etc/rc.sysinit)
- you have to disable /lib/tls or install a xen-friendly one
- you have to deal with a virtual console in /etc/inittab

CentOS3 domU give a lot of errors at startup, mainly concerning USB devices.

Despite all above, such domUs seem to work normally, so we don't investigate further on those problems.

If your debian box is really old, you have to expect some similar problems.

Cheers,
Alain.
