Hi John,

In that case probably my vnc settings are not correct; can you please provide the details of how its been configured on your machine? Do you have any other VNC client other than the qemu which came with Xen.

That doesn't make any sense.  I have a guest here (looks under desk) running RHEL in run level three (no graphics) on hardware that doesn't have a working graphics console (no driver) but I can still use vnc to look at the VGA console of the guest.
