[Xen-users] xenconsole not working

Hello all,
Today after a reboot of my server, I encountered the following error:
> # xm console hackbloc
> xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
I have not changed anything and have never run into this problem
before. I have no idea what to do here, I mounted the image and checked
that /dev/tty* were still there and they are. xm show lists the server
as blocked, and the server is completely unresponsive on the network.
Thes is a gentoo domU running on a centOS5.2 dom0 running xen 3.1 Here
is my xen config file:

kernel = "/boot/vmlinux-2.6.18-gentoo"
memory = 700
name = "hackbloc"
disk = ['file:/vm/gentoo.2008-0.img,sda1,w']
vif = [ "mac=00:16:3e:6f:55:da,bridge=xenbr0" ]
root = "/dev/sda1 rw"
extra = 'xencons=tty gentoo=nodevfs'

Thanks for your help.
