By "block device", do you mean "IDE/ATA/ATPI Controller", "Disk
Drives", or "SCSI and Raid Controllers"? What are their names (the one
that works and doesn't)?

I think 0.9.12-x is supposed to have two disk controllers and two
network cards, one of each (the ones provided by Qemu) is marked not
working (the yellow exclamation mark). Note that you no longer need
/GPLPV boot option as it's enabled by default.
