Re: [Xen-users] Windows DomUs not seeing additional new ram

You can try to enable the 3/1 mem switch to see if ti works, I use it in XP.

Its solved some key issues with apps needing more then 2GB mem.

Your boot.ini will look something like this;

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional 3GB" /fastdetect /3GB multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

To edit it by the book (I've had issues just hand editing it), do this;

1 - Open System Properties.
2 - Choose Advanced.
3 - Startup/Recovery, then Settings.
4 - At the top under System startup choose Edit.
5 - Copy the line and add /3GB ** Its alays good to have a fall back if the 3GB switch fubars something. * Remember to choose it during startup or select it as the default one to boot.

Yea, and its all a POS. I recall when MS$ was every ones buddy, ppl loved Windows 3.11 and the enemy was IBM/OS2.

    Sorry for the top post.
    I found out that Windows 2003 WebEd has a 2Gig memory limit. I

        Hello everyone,

        I have a Dom0 server running xen 3.0.1 and I just upgraded
        the ram from 16Gig to 32Gig. On that server I have 7 Windows
        2003 WebEd DomUs. They had been configured for 2048M of RAM.
         I changed the config file for each one to have 4096MB RAM.
         After restarting each of the Windows DomUs they still only
        report having 2048M of RAM. However 'xm top' reports each
        having 4096MB RAM. I hope it's something simple I'm missing
        and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
